buyerenablement.org is an editorial publication. We do not sell software, run advertising, or operate user accounts. The site collects very little personal information, and what it does collect is described here.

If anything in this policy is unclear, or you want us to act on one of the rights described below, contact editorial@buyerenablement.org.

What we collect

We collect three categories of information:

Site usage data. The site runs on WordPress.com infrastructure operated by Automattic. As part of that hosting, basic usage information is collected -- pageviews, the country a visitor is browsing from, the device type and browser, and which pages on this site are most read. This information is aggregated and used to understand how the site is being used. It is not used to build profiles of individual visitors, and we do not use it for advertising.

Newsletter subscribers. If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address through MailPoet. We store your email solely so we can send you the newsletter. We do not share newsletter subscriber lists with third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly.

Correspondence. If you email us at editorial@buyerenablement.org or any other site address, we keep the email so we can respond, reference it later, or correct an article based on your feedback. We do not add correspondents to mailing lists without consent.

What we do not collect

  • We do not use third-party advertising networks or retargeting pixels.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share visitor data with data brokers.
  • We do not run user accounts, comments, or any user-generated content features.
  • We do not track visitors across other sites on the internet.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses a small number of cookies that are necessary for basic functionality -- remembering whether you have dismissed an in-page banner, for example, and supporting administrator login for the editorial team. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not currently use a cookie consent banner; if you are in a jurisdiction that requires one and would prefer it, please let us know and we will accommodate.

Embedded content from third parties -- for example, links out to Gartner, Forrester, or McKinsey -- may cause those sites to set their own cookies when you follow the link. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern that data.

How long we keep your data

Aggregated site usage data is retained on a rolling basis through our hosting provider's standard analytics retention. Newsletter subscriber data is kept for as long as you remain subscribed; we delete email addresses on request and when subscribers unsubscribe. Editorial correspondence is kept indefinitely unless a correspondent asks us to delete it.

Your rights

Your rights regarding your data

Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights under data protection law -- including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and similar frameworks elsewhere. These typically include:

  • The right to know what personal information we have about you
  • The right to request a copy of that information
  • The right to ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • The right to ask us to delete information we hold about you
  • The right to opt out of communications we send
  • The right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights

To exercise any of these rights, email editorial@buyerenablement.org. We will respond within 30 days. Given how little information we hold, most requests can be honoured quickly.

Third-party services we rely on

Operating this site requires a small number of third-party services. The most relevant ones for privacy purposes are:

  • Automattic / WordPress.com -- hosts the site and provides basic analytics (Jetpack Stats). Their privacy practices are described at automattic.com/privacy.
  • MailPoet -- the newsletter system we use, also operated by Automattic. Subscriber data is governed by the same privacy practices.

We do not use other third-party services that involve collecting visitor data. If we add new services that affect this, we will update this policy and (where required) notify subscribers.

Children

This site is intended for B2B revenue professionals. It is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or, in jurisdictions where the threshold is higher, the applicable age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to how we handle visitor data, we will update this policy and change the effective date at the top of the page. Where we have collected email addresses, we will notify subscribers of substantive changes.
